Female Hormone Testing
What Is the DUTCH Test?
The DUTCH (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones) Complete test is a method for assessing hormone levels. The advantage of this test is that it measures multiple hormones and their metabolites over a 24-hour period—providing an average of hormone levels throughout the day—whereas blood tests offer only a snapshot at a single point in time. This test provides a comprehensive analysis of their hormone levels, offering insights into imbalances, adrenal function, and estrogen metabolism. The test can help identify issues like hormonal fluctuations, stress impact, and sleep patterns, all of which affect overall health. It’s particularly useful for women in perimenopause or menopause, as it allows for personalized recommendations to manage symptoms and optimize hormonal health.
What Does It Measure?
-
Cortisol and its metabolites
-
Estrogen and its metabolites
-
Progesterone metabolites
-
Testosterone and its metabolites
-
Melatonin
-
Vitamin B metabolites (elevated in deficiencies)
-
Inflammatory metabolites (elevations can be from neuro or gut inflammation)
What Insights Can the Results Provide?
-
Personalized treatment plans including lifestyle changes, dietary recommendations, supplementation, or hormone therapy to improve hormonal balance.
-
Identify the root causes of health issues or complex symptoms.
-
Empower clients with a better understanding of their bodies and the impact of their lifestyle choices on hormonal health.
